Executive Board update 07/16/2025

Greetings Fellow Eagles!

It’s already mid-year, and time for an Executive Board update to let you know what’s going on with our alumni association.

On February 17 a Zoom meeting was held with the Board and new Compassion Fund Chair, Ken Flauding ’69. The purpose of the meeting was to get clarification on the role and responsibilities of the Committee, which reaches out to the families of Fallen Eagles, and those Eagles facing difficulties.

On May 19 the Executive Board met via Zoom, along with Peggy Rowland Sanchez ’71, who is the Chair of the Reunion Selection Committee and our new bookkeeper. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss business continuity in the event that Executive Board members can no longer perform their duties. Peggy has been working with Jim and Gaye so that the Association’s finances can smoothly transition.

At the July 14 Executive Board meeting, the team agreed to write out their duties and, if practical, provide details on how to perform them. This is important in the event someone needs to step in for another person on the executive board. This is also an election year. Contact with the election committee was discussed for them to begin the process.

Stu Pike ’70 and Bill Thayer ’73 have been working hard to make the reunion in Frankfurt a rousing success. Details are on our website at www.fahsaa.org. So far Peggy has received only one reunion proposal for 2026.
