Executive Board/Class Representatives Zoom Meeting

President Gayle Cratty called the meeting to order at 1:00 pm EST. Those on the call included Gayle Cratty, President, Jim Casey, Treasurer, Gaye Doane, Financial Advisor; Joe Caldwell, Legal Advisor; Steve Gill, Webmaster; Lynet Buval, ‘68; Peggy Sanchez, ’71; Dawn Thompson, ’69; Betty Weller, Secretary. PJ Torres, ‘71, joined the call late.

Gayle told Executive Board members she needs updated roles and responsibilities by September 1. She also suggested we purchase a new system for bookkeeping as the one we have is outdated. Gaye said they called Quicken to see about such a system. There were issues with the kind of system that they needed, so Gaye said we will keep the current system and upload to the Cloud. Maybe that will take care of their needs.

Elections are on. Steve said we created a google form 2 years ago. The by-laws require us to have a written ballot; if the election is uncontested, the name of the one candidate will appear on the ballot with an option to abstain. We have never had a ballot with a write-in option.

Pat Collin Miller’s email indicates elections are underway—they began 8/18 and will close 9/13. Votes from members in good standing will be vetted after the votes are in. After some discussion, the timeline was altered so now the election will begin 8/25 and will close on 9/25. Steve will try to get the ballot up on the website in the next day or so. Voting will now close after the reunion in Germany when we have the business meeting.

After this discussion, the class reps and Steve left the call.

Gayle asked if the Executive Board had any questions—no one did. She also said she was concerned that the same class reps were missing the calls. We need to try to do something.

Next year’s reunion will be in October and Peggy will verify the dates. Information currently says the price per night will be $149 and will include breakfast in Downer’s Grove outside of Chicago. (**Since the call yesterday, Peggy has verified the dates of the 2026 reunion as October 14, 15, 16, 2026**)

PJ mentioned the deaths of two classmates, Brian Stimson and Mike Bettez in recent months. We were reminded that class reps need to fill out Fallen Eagle forms with all of the information they have. Names will be added to the website.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:40 pm EST.
